How to wear a lingerie harness
A harness adapts to any occasion depending on how you wear it.
Over lingerie: layered on top of a bra or bodysuit, it adds a graphic dimension to a classic set.
Over a dress: worn over a fitted black dress, this is the most popular option, the harness becomes a fashion accessory in its own right, like a belt or body jewellery.
Over a shirt: slipped over a white shirt or a fine top, it structures the silhouette for a bolder, more urban look.
Materials: leather, faux leather, vinyl, chains
Leather and vegan faux leather (polyurethane): the most popular choice, for its authentic look and durability. It cleans easily with a damp cloth, with no special care needed.
Vinyl: stiffer straps for a more structured, glossier look; best kept to a few hours' wear, as the material can mark the skin.
Chains and metal details (rings, buckles): in stainless steel or plated metal, to prevent oxidation on contact with skin. Check that the adjustment buckles are easy to handle, especially ones at the back.
Lace and covered elastic: for softer styles that move with the body without ever compressing it.
Getting the fit right: sizing and straps
The harness's strength lies in its adjustability: unlike a bra with a fixed cup size, every strap can be fine-tuned to your body. Adjust it so it sits against the skin without pinching, you should be able to slide a finger underneath easily, and re-check the fit after 15–20 minutes of wear, once it has settled.
If you're torn between two sizes, always go up: it's far easier to tighten straps that are too long than to stretch ones that are too short. Straps usually allow 10–15 cm of adjustment on each side.
🎁 For a first harness, start with a simple style with no more than 3–4 straps, worn over your usual lingerie. You can explore more elaborate designs once you're comfortable.
